Intro
Between 2019 and 2021, I worked with Ooredoo Qatar — one of the region’s largest telecommunications companies — to transform their traditional printed annual reports into fully interactive, bilingual web experiences.
The brief evolved across three years: the first edition established the format, moving from static PDF to an interactive digital report. Each subsequent edition built on the last — improving data visualisation clarity, mobile responsiveness, and the balance between corporate narrative and financial accessibility.
Role
I was responsible for translating Ooredoo’s corporate and financial content into a dynamic, web-based format. This included defining the information hierarchy, designing the user interface, and creating interactive data visualizations that simplified financial highlights and performance indicators. I also guided the interaction patterns and bilingual user experience, ensuring smooth navigation and consistent presentation across all three reports.

The Challenge
Annual reports serve two audiences simultaneously: financial stakeholders who need precise data, and broader audiences — employees, media, government — who need to understand the company’s strategic story without getting lost in the numbers. Designing for both in one bilingual, web-based format required careful hierarchy thinking and interaction design that could surface the right level of detail for each type of reader.
The bilingual requirement (English and Arabic) added complexity: financial data, infographics, and interactive charts all needed to read clearly in both directions, and in some cases needed to be redesigned rather than just mirrored.
What I did
Across three editions, I defined the information hierarchy for each report — deciding how to structure financial highlights, strategic narratives, and sustainability content into a web format that rewarded both quick scanning and deep reading. I designed the interactive data visualisations — animated charts and infographics that made financial performance legible at a glance — and created the bilingual interaction patterns that ensured a consistent experience in both English and Arabic.
Each year’s edition was a conscious improvement on the previous: 2020 focused on accessibility and resilience framing during COVID disruption; 2021 introduced a stronger sustainability narrative with more refined visual language.
